What are the problems with the Maverick X3?

The Maverick X3 can provide you with many different and functional options that are worth considering, as well as with a great degree of comfort and ease in everyday use.

But, at the same time, you should be aware that the vehicle has some limitations and limitations when it comes to certain options and in-built features.

Now the problems we will talk about are problems we face when racing or going fast on the trail. So if you don't like doing any of those and are a slow driver or just hang out at the sand dunes, then these upgrades won't be for you.

1.Can-Am Radius Rods

The main problem with these is they are not as strong as they should be. The stock radius rods also don't clear the wheel assembly. This can cause you to think you cleared something, but you end up hitting a rock or anything sticking up—Braking or bending your radius rods because they are the stronger either.

So what to do to fix this? I would highly recommend picking up some ZRP Can-Am X3 High Clearance Radius Rods. They come in 64 and 72 wide styles.

These Can-Am radius rods are stronger and just better overall. Adding an extra 2 inches of ground clearance.

2.Radius Rod Plate

This plate has a lot of play in it and can cause your ride to bend a rod when taking those turns fast. The extra play can ruin your ride at the dunes or trail. The fix for this is to add the ZRP radius rod plate.

This will add more strength to your suspension, Reduce stress on the radius rod bolts, and it will give you the option to add a hitch or during receiver.

Can-Am Door Handles

This has nothing to do with any performance problems. It is just a must to change.

The door straps are flimsy and should be replaced with billet aluminum handles that bolt-on into place of the strap. Trust me. It will make everything so much easier for you.

3.Front and Rear Knuckles

There was a wheel bearing issue with the OEM knuckles, which these will fix. Like I said before, this is for racing and not for just everyday driving and slow cruising. Replacing the Rear Knuckles on your can-am can add 72,000lbs of force that the part can take. Making it so your middle radius rod won't bend.

The front knuckles are lab tested to 86,000 lbs where the stock is only at 17,000 lbs, and when you are hauling ass, you are hitting that limit over and over. There's a reason we finish the king of hammers dessert race.

4.Shock Tower Brace

When you get hauling, and your shocks are taking a ton of pressure, your tower brace breaking chances are high.

It would be best if you reinforced your upper shocks with a shock tower brace. It's a direct fit and will add more strength to your suspension.

5.Alternator

If you ever have any low voltage issue with your can am x3, you should just replace that alternator and add our Can-Am X3 Alternator Kit. The factory alternator wasn't designed to handle and stereo, lights, and power all the electrical components.

When the car gets hot, the power drops. This alternator will ad 75amps while using your OEM starter. Just take the old one off and add the new one.

6.Transmission Seal Guard

I hope you never have a belt that blows and damages your transmission as we have. We got so tired of this happening that we made a transmission seal guard for the can am x3. This part has saved us $1000 in repairs. It's only $40 and will save you in the long run.

Steering Rack

If you have ever had the death grip in hard terrain, this fix will be for you. It eliminates all the play in the front end, and it doesn't require any greasing. Overall it will make all your turning easier.

Why You Should Fix Those Problems

Overall it comes down to what matters to you. If you are okay to replace all the parts repeatedly, go for it, but if you are like me, I hate having to do that.

Even though we strip down our race car after every race and put it back together.

We built these parts because we got tired of having them replace them. If we have to, we know you will too. I recommended changing these out as soon as you can.
