How To install Rear Knuckles on the Can Am X3

X3 Rear Knuckle

Note: The middle radius rod bolt anti-rotation block was designed for racing
applications. The anti-rotation block will not clear the stock trailing arm. This block is not needed for recreational use. If you wish to use the anti-rotation block trimming of our trailing arm may be required.

• Middle Radius Rod Bolt Torque Spec: 100ft-lbs
Torque spec for the ARP bolt into the ZRP Rear Knuckle is 100 ft-lbs. Always use an accurate, calibrated torque wrench.
             Do not exceed 110 ft-lbs or fall below 90 ft-lbs.

Torque procedure:

1. Lubricant:
    a. For Racing use Loctite 272, for recreational use
Loctite 242. (Heat of 480° applied for a short time is
        recommended when removing bolt.)
    b. Loctite is proven to be superior for vibration
        loosening compared to nyloc nuts.
    c. Apply Loctite to the bolt threads for this application.
    d. Loctite takes 10 minutes to start to cure and 24 hours
to finish curing. Heat can accelerate the cure time.

2. Clean threads:
    a. Ensure threads of the bolt and knuckle are clean and
free of debris, oil, and dried Loctite.

3. Torque Sequence:
    a. Toque to 85 ft-lbs and then back off the bolt.
    b. Torque to 95 ft-lbs and then back off the bolt.
    c. Finally torque to 100 ft-lbs
