Your Can-Am X3 and the Parts you Should Upgrade
Jun 29th 2021
The can-am maverick x3 is a high-powered UTV that starts at $18,999. One of the more popular UTV on the market, so we decided to make the best suspension for this incredible UTV.
We race professionally and have broken many parts, and the biggest hold-ups for us were the suspensions.
So What did we change to make this Can-Am go even faster?
First, let's get into the problems that we were facing with the Maverick X3.
High Clearance Radius Rods and Plates
We like to go fast over everything. One of the significant hiccups was running into rocks as we haul ass down the trail. The lower radius rods kept bending.
That's when we decided to make the new High Clearance Radius Rods for the Can-Am and RZR.
This gave us two more inches in the back for clearance. Now you have the clearance of the height of the bottom frame.
No more unforeseen broken radius rods or having to walk out to get cellphone service to call your buddy to help you retrieve your ride.
Our radius rods are so good that we never had an issue with them. What happened next was the bolts started to take too much pressure. We made the Radius Rod Plate, which adds strength and rigidity to your rear suspension.
The stock plate was just too flimsy, which had a ton of stress. The plate relives the press from the bolts and allowing you to continue to go faster.
We Also added the Dog bones to strengthen up your rear bulkhead.
Knuckles for Can-Am
These knuckles can take a force of 72,000 lbs that is five times stronger than the stock knuckles. They also help reduce the middle radius rod, which puts it in double shear. Keep in mind this part is for racing and not for recreational use. It will run into the trailing arm.
Trailing Arm Brace and Shock Tower Brace Mount
The trailing arm has always been an issue with the can-am, but this brace will help you strengthen the thin factory arms.
The Shock Tower Brace Mount will reinforce your upper shock tower. You like to go fast. You can't go fast if you have a broken shock or your tower goes out. This brace is a perfect replacement.
The Alternator Kit
For whatever reason, the can am x3 puts out a low voltage. When racing, we would run into these problems. We couldn't find a fix, so we made one ourselves.
Our alternator kit will ad 75 amps to all your electrical components. You'll never be in limp mode again with this powerhouse. We also made it super easy to change. Just bolt it right onto your existing holder. You will have to Swap the existing starter over to our billet start housing.
The Gas & Brake Pedal.
When we want to go super fast, we have to break and punch the gas. So we extended the brake pedal so we can use our left foot. This took a little time getting used to, but you save so much time from shifting back and forth from the gas to the brake. We also got super tired of our feet touching when racing. The Gas brake pedal blots onto the current pedal.
The first and most crucial part of upgrading is your radius rods. Switch those to the high clearance radius rods.
